The Road That Sings
Not every path is paved in gold,
Yet some are tales that must be told.
A winding road, a whispered stream,
A journey softer than a dream.
The sky unfolds in shades untamed,
Each dawn and dusk a picture framed.
The wind hums songs I’ve never known,
Yet in their tune, I’ve found my own.
Then they appeared, a light so bright,
Turning shadows into flight.
No longer just an acquaintance, but something more,
A soul that mine had searched before.
A fleeting name, a passing glance,
A chance entwined by fate’s own dance.
Step by step, the walls gave way,
And friendship bloomed in golden sway.
With every step, we laughed, we grew,
The world felt vast, yet close with anew.
In golden hours, in midnight skies,
I saw myself through kinder eyes.
Through wandering paths and endless skies,
We painted dreams with no disguise.
No longer chasing journey’s end,
But finding joy in every bend.
The footprints fade but not the thrill,
Of climbing ever-changing hills.
Not chasing ends, nor racing time,
But tracing echoes, soft, sublime.
Once a task, now pure delight,
The journey’s beauty, bold and bright.
In every turn, in every mile,
I learned to wander, free in style.
An acquaintance once, a contact lost,
Now the one who changed my course.
From merely walking to a soul’s embrace,
The roads we take are home, not race.
This ode is sung, not just for me,
But for the one who set me free.
From goal to goal, to dream to dream,
A traveler born, with roads that gleam.
For some roads weave a tale so bright,
The stars lean in to gift them light.
And when they call the journey done,
The heart still longs—just one more run.

This poem is a heartfelt tribute to that one friend who started as a mere acquaintance, just a name in my phone. Yet, after one journey together, everything changed. They turned travel from a mere task or goal into an experience to be cherished. With every step, they made me fall in love with the roads, the moments, and the beauty of the journey itself. Through them, I became a traveler, embracing each path with wonder and joy.
